The soft, pattering rain came down steadily over the rocky mountain terrain, drenching the silvery pelt of a lone she-cat. She stopped for a moment and looked around, her face expressionless. The rain had made the slopes dangerously slippery, and murky puddles spotted the area. She picked up a scent of a mouse hiding in the foliage and immediately sank into a hunting crouch. She stalked closer to her prey, staying as silent as possible. Suddenly, the silver tabby pounced on the rodent and in one swift movement, took its life. Silver picked up the mouse and dug a shallow hole to bury it in. She continued to walk slowly, keeping her mouth slightly open to smell for prey. It wasn't very wise of her to go alone with all this rain, but Silver needed some time away from all those other cats. They tended to get on her nerves a little.

Frost had been on the other side of the mountain when the rain had begun to pour, drenching her striped ginger pelt to the core. She fought through it, though, making her way slowly back in the direction of the waterfall. Her head lifted and her mouth parted slightly to scent the air for prey every once in a while, and when she caught on to something she stopped, located it, crouched and lept for it. Unfortunately, because of the rain, the ground below her was slippery and she had issues catching what she found. She managed to nab a mouse in the end, though, right before before she caught sight of one of her Tribe mates walking alone. It probably wasn't safe to be alone, Frost thought. Though she didn't really want to go over to Silver, she did anyways.
"Hey," she called, hoping that the silver tabby hadn't been mid-stalk when she did so.

Silver clenched her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut as she heard the voice of another cat. Sighing with exasperation, she opened her eyes to see Frost that Falls on Water. Silver remembered that just a few moons ago, Frost had lost her kits; not to mention her mate as well. A pang of pity hit her, but her expression failed to show it. Silver walked towards the ginger she-cat, and nodded curtly. She had hoped to find some peace and quiet on this hunting trip, but it seemed that she couldn't have that. "Hello," she said in a rather cold tone. Her voice seemed to be void of expression, but it wasn't that Silver herself was expressionless; no, she just could hide emotions very well. Her blue gaze swept over Frost's pelt, twitching her whiskers in amusement when she found that she was nearly soaked to the bone. Silver knew that she was probably drenched as well, but it was just amusing to her to see someone else suffer.

Silver's utter lack of care was something that Frost had come to expect, and in honesty she admired the she-cat for her ability to be like that. As much as she didn't like being around others too much and ached to feel nothing, Frost wasn't very adept at it. She still felt the pain of her recent losses with every step she took, every beat of her heart. It took everything that she had to not tear herself apart over it. Maybe if she'd been a better mother, maybe if she'd rested in the nursery instead of continuing to stress her body, maybe if she'd stopped Crow from going out that day. She could never fix that, though. Now, more than she just disliked other cats, she was scared of getting close to them.
For such a young cat, she had already developed a fear of life itself, and learned just how temporary everything in it really was. Silver wasn't much older than her, they had slept in the nursery together as kits. Both had turned out seeming rather indifferent towards others, but for very different reasons the young she-cat expected.
"It's probably safer if we're not alone," Frost mewed, setting her pale yellow eyes on silver tabby. She expected the other she-cat to refuse the company that her words inferred. She wouldn't be surprised. At the same time, if Silver did accept, she was content being quiet as well.

The she-cat nodded her head, it would be much safer to have another cat with her. Silver started to walk, motioning with her tail for Frost to follow. As she listened and smelled for prey, her mind began to wander. The tabby thought back to when Frost's kits had died, it was only a few moons ago; however it seems like ages. Shortly after, her mate had perished too... Both of the cats were around the same age, and yet Frost had been through much more. Silver didn't have kits yet, let alone a mate. Honestly, she didn't' care if she ever had kits. A mate might be nice though.. She was quickly brought back to earth when she heard the screech of an eagle. And this one was close. Silver tensed her body, not knowing weather to run for cover or to stay as still as possible. Fear and adrenaline coursed through her body as she saw the eagle, not knowing weather it had seen her.
