As the sun fell, cats began to appear on the small island near the edge of the lake. They sat there, gossiping and chattering as more and more cats started to cross over the old log and onto the island where the gatherings were held. The full moon symbolized a truce between the clans, a night to share news and catch up. To some, however, it was a chance to learn the weaknesses of the other clans. The moon began to rise, and silverpelt made it's self visible in the navy blue sky. There wasn't a cloud to be seen, so far, and hopefully it would stay that way for the rest of the night. The leaders of the clans stood near the low branch at the front of the group of cats, but they would give the clans some time to catch up still.

Rabbitstar was perched on the branch he normally sat on, sitting as tall as he could. He had only been on the branches for a few gatherings now, and he was finally starting to feel like he was getting the hang of leaderly things. He sat in silence as he waited for the gathering to begin, figuring one of the other leaders would call everyone to attention.
Mottledleaf was sitting off to one side with the other medicine cats. It was only her second gathering without Silverwhisker, and being there gave the RiverClan medicine cat a sharp reminder of that loss. All was well, though. The torbie and white she-cat was managing, every day that came brought a bit more courage to her.

WhiskerStar could feel his heartbeat in his paws as he lead his clan onto the island. This was his first gathering as the new RiverClan leader and he was quite younger than the other leaders. Panic was beginning to set in as he imagined himself messing up horribly when addressing everyone here. However, as he entered the main area of the island he would not allow himself to show fear or nerves. He lifted his head high and nodded respectfully at several warriors he past on his way towards the tree. From what he could tell the only other clan to arrive yet was ThunderClan, which means RabbitStar must already be here. Sure enough when he looked up RaibbitStar was perched on the same branch waiting for him and the other leaders.
WhiskerStar's heart panged a little as he padded past the base of the tree where the deputies sit. Before continuing up to the RiverClan Leader Branch he turned and seeked out FireLeap in the crowd. Once he spotted him, he quietly said "Remember you have to sit at the base of the tree when the gathering begins." Then without another word he began to climb towards his branch and the view of SilverPelt. Once he reached his branch he settled in carefully and looked over at RabbitStar. He could feel his heart again but this time he made it slow down by calming himself. I am sure for some warriors it will be a surprise that I am leader since news of our past leader's death hasn't really spread very far beyond our territory.
Giving his head a quick shake he finally spoke up to RabbitStar, "Greetings RabbitStar it's a nice MoonHigh for the Gathering don't you think?" Mouse dung! That sounded so stupid he cursed in his mind but it was too late now what was said was said.

Leading her clan onto the island wasn't a new thing to this she-cat. She knew what she needed to do when she was here, announce to the rest of the clans that WindClan was doing perfectly fine. Her tail was high in the air when she put the first paw on the log; she wasted no time at all and hopped up onto the branch. "Rabbitstar, Whiskerstar." Runningstar dipped her head to the other leaders. The leader settled herself and looked out at the swell of cats, mingling and sharing tongues. Her face remained motionless as the three waited for Jaystar and her clan to appear.

Shadowclan: Jaystar padded into the island her head held high and clan assembled behind her. Flicking her tail to let the cats scatter to their proper groups, the Shadowclan leader padded up to the other leaders and gave them a curt nod for a greeting. She then sat down on the branch and watched the other clans with emotionless eyes. She spotted her deputy, and her medicine cat and nodded her head slowly seeing that they were keeping to their own rank. The number one thing, Jaystar could not handle was cats goofing arounding at a gathering. Thats why she hated the rule that you must bring apprentices. Waiting again, she decided to speak with the other leaders, "Hows prey running?"
Riverclan: Willowbranch followed her leader into the clearing and went to a group of senior warriors and began to speak with them, she loved gatherings, just the feeling of having peace for one night was amazing.

Rabbitstar nodded to Whiskerstar when the other leader spoke to him. "It is a nice night for the gathering, I agree." His gaze flickered to the other leaders - Runningstar was polite as always, and Jaystar was just as quiet as usual. "Prey's running well, and yourself?"

Shadowclan: Jaystar looked at Rabbitstar and nodded, leaders usually would say preys running good, mostly because they were afraid of other clans trying to attack them."Prey is running good for Shadowclan as well. Now, shall we begin the gathering?" She looked at the other leaders and waited for their answer as well along with Rabbitstar's. She personally wanted to get this other with since she didn't have much to say anyway.

Before ShadowClan entered the island, Runningstar scented them. She was ready to get the gathering going, the she-cat usually started the gathering as she was really the only clan leader, she thought, that wanted to get back to her own camp. Dipping her head to Jaystar she answered, "Windclan's prey is running well." She nodded, "Yes, shall I start?" She looked around at the other three.

Shadowclan: The Shadowclan leader shrugged as she heard Runningstar, "Go ahead." With that, Jaystar took a step back and went to sit in her normal position and waited for her turn. She was usually the one to go second since she wanted to say what she wanted to and be done with it. Waiting for the leader to start she allowed her tip of her tail to twitch.

Rabbitstar nodded to both of the leaders as the minimal conversation finished and he proceeded to back away to his spot as he gave an affirming nod. He eyed his Clanmates as he leaned back, watching them closely. Once again he figured that he would be last to speak, as he was patiently able to wait for the others to go ahead of him. He wasn't in any rush.

OOC: We should try and wait for Arrow and other cats; warriors, apprentices can post right?
With the okay from Jaystar, the she-cat stepped forward, "The gathering will now start!" Runningstar said loud enough for her voice to echo across the island. When she heard a silence fall over the cats she began. "WindClan is doing well, Flowernose [nonexistant queen] gave birth to three kits and Echopaw and Willowpaw [more nonexistant cats] have started their apprenticeship." Runningstar stepped back and waited for the leader to step forward.

Jaystar stepped forward and lifted her head and spoke with a proud tone, "Shadowclan is doing well, we have one new apprentice, Yewpaw [Going to create]. But, I warn you, I have been scenting roughe clan cats in our territory, I suspect it is Bloodclan, but even though these roughes have been in our territory does not mean we are afraid to defend it of we have to. As for prey, it is running good, and we have been blessed by Starclan to be given new kits [ not alive at the moment.]"
The she-cat stepped back, dipping her head towards the other leaders and waited quietly for one of the two to speak. She wanted to sound as she had been giving a warning to the other clans that Shadowclan was not weak and would attack at any moment if a cat dared to take the scents as a weakness.

WhiskerStar listened patiently to his fellow leaders speak about their clans and in all honesty, it all sounded the same. The prey is running good new kits new warriors and all of those things. Yet he knew why if a clan openly admitted being week others would take advantage of it so he too must follow the pattern. With a brief nod to his fellow leaders he stepped forward and spoke in a voice as strong and honorable as it represented all of his clan. "RiverClan is strong and thriving at the moment. I would also like to thank JayStar for the warning of these cats and we will be ready to defend ourselves against any intruders as well. I also ask you all to be wary of a fox in your territories since we have detected traces of one in RiverClan, however, it appears to have left. Our prey is currently in plenty and the river has been very kind to us. Also as you all probably know by now I WhiskerStar am the new leader of RiverClan since StreamStar{fake past leader} has stepped down to become an elder. Also we have a new apprentice SwanPaw and of course a new deputy FireLeap."
With that he stepped back and dipped his head at the other leaders and waited for the final leader to speak.
